“Many students who return are looking for and need academic programs in most cases with built-in supports and enrichments. The uniqueness of Community Call’s project-based program interests our students and provides them with real life skill preparation. Students are given the opportunity to collaborate with their peers, identify a social need, develop a plan, and produce an event that benefits the broader community.”
– Gail Forbes – Harris, Director – Boston Public Schools Re-Engagement Center
Community Call = Business + Education Centers + Community
Community Call believes in bringing together individuals, businesses, non-profits, government agencies, educational centers, and other organizations to benefit the community. For a list of our partners, please click here. In addition to our student programming, Community Call has provided a variety of additional community programs including:
- YouthDoors, a program that opens doors for disadvantaged youth to expand learning opportunities outside the classroom through teaching, mentoring, and networking with people in education, business, and the Boston area community.
- Community Call Young Leader Award presented annually to an outstanding young adult who has made a significant impact on the community.
- #BeMayor a social media campaign to collect ideas from individuals across the City of Boston to provide input to Mayor Martin J. Walsh.
- Community Call Small Business Summit hosted local small and mid-size businesses to learn how to give back to the community from peer size businesses
Community Call, a 501(c)(3), relies on the financial support and donations in kind from businesses and donors to offer event planning enrichment programs to students in the greater Boston area public schools and through community based organizations.
In order to provide these programs, we seek sponsorships from local businesses and individuals. Donations of all levels are accepted. Your donations support and pay for teachers, teaching material, and the costs of executing events to benefit the community. Donations of venues, supplies and teaching material are also accepted.
